Translation

At Lion Gate we focus on high-quality, consistent, cost-effective translations and localization by using professional resources and project experience covering the different fields. We are always ON TIME and IN BUDGET.
At Lion Gate all our translators are handpicked and very well tested to ensure high levels of international quality, and to meet clients' needs and expectations.

Team

Lion Gate translators are grouped in different teams according to their industry knowledge, thus ensuring that a legal document is not translated by a resource with automotive background. Each team is headed by a senior language specialist and backed up by reviewers. As a final step, work never goes out till it is reviewed by a subject-matter expert with experience in the same domain of the project's domain.

Project Cycle

Project Analysis:

Upon receipt of a project for translation, it will be assigned to one of our qualified project managers. PM's job is to assess the project to determine subject matter, formatting requirements, turnaround time and schedule. He initiates work by assigning the job to the most suitable team in the particular field and data processing format.

Preparation phase:

As the first step for translating the project; terminology is extracted and the resulting list of terms is translated. This glossary is sent to the client for approval. After the client's approval then glossary is imported in a terminology management tool to facilitate access to terminological resources during translation and maintenance of the database.

Translation Phase:

Translation is carried out using a translation memory tool (TRADOS, SDLX, Déja vu). We strongly believe in the impact TM tools would have on localization projects. Such TM tools improve translators' productivity by automating terminology search, re-using previously translated documents and maintaining consistency.
At the end of this phase random samples are taken for QA checks. This ensures the detection of quality-related issues early in the translation process.

Revision & Editing:

This phase involves two sub-phases: Revision and editing. When translation finishes, the first draft is subject to string-by-string revision/proofreading. Output material is then edited by a senior editor who is responsible for overall quality control, consistency and cross-consistency, in addition to the implementation of all style guides, check lists and translation-specific client instructions;

Quality Check:

This is the phase of the QA check. At Lion Gate we take quality very seriously. QA is an integral part of our translation cycle.
Linguistic QA checks: Through these checks we assure that style guidelines are followed, preferences in terminology are implemented, and consistency is maintained.
Technical QA checks: Through these checks we assure that clients' instructions regarding deliverables are followed, and that the spirit of the source, including text styles, fonts,…etc are maintained after the translation. For some of these checks we depend on standard QA tools, like HTMQA and RTFQA.

Communication:

Throughout the project's life cycle we keep our clients updated through status reports. Clients' feedback receives due attention. Their comments, updates and modifications are instantly implemented.

Tools

At Lion Gate, we consistently implement the latest in translation tools and methodology, in order to reduce operating costs (while passing the cost savings to our customers) and improve quality.
All our translators use CAT (Computer Aided Translation) and TM (Translation Memory) tools to streamline the translation process and enhance consistency.
